Short trip to London to see my Friends … and Clarence Darrow 7. Juni 2014

Friends always know what I need: relaxing in good privileged atmosphere. That is why I have been invited to London for a short break between my lectures, my podium discussions as well as my writing job and the planning of the second half of the year. London is such an overwhelming and cool city. And besides, I had a great chance with the weather. The Sky was as blue as in the South of France, the Sun was shining this weekend. It was magic. When I am in London, I always think about the great poet and moralist Samuel Johnson, who once said: „When a man is tired of London, he is tired of Life“. I got a ticket for the Old Vic Theater because I had to see the man to whom I dedicated my current book: Mr. Kevin Spacey. He played Clarence Darrow by David W. Rintels, which is a one-man play based upon Irving Stone´s Clarence Darrow for the Defense. Just to let you know: it was an extraordinary experience. In fact, Kevin Spacey is overshadowing every actor I know. Because he acts in a total different way then the Europeans. He really rocks. Definitely. I am still amazed by his craft and by his presence. A selected member of the crew from the Old Vic got a copy of my book „On a Secret Mission“ and was asked to hand it over to Mr. KS together with a personal letter for him. Besides: the Selfie shows me with an Evening Dress with plenty of Pearls sponsored by my preferred British Label: Monsoon. And here are some pictures from my trip – enjoy:

Guest speaker at the AFA Security Days 2014 27. Mai 2014

Filed under: News — Judith Grohmann @ 14:47

These days I was invited as a guest speaker at the AFA Security Days 2014 by the Austrian Academic Forum for Foreign politics and the Liga for the United Nations (AFA) with the mission to talk about my book, about secret missions and operations in this world. The AFA resides in a very charming location in the Vienna City center, next to the Hofburg Palace and the St. Michaels Church — above the Spanish Riding School. It was a privilege for me to talk to these interested Austrian Students about the work of Counter Terrorist units in this world. Security, Freedom and Peace are important topics. Especially for the students of history, political science and law, because they feel irritated by the global security measures. It was a good way to talk about facts and figures, but also to describe the differences and the characteristics of Secret Services and Counter Terrorist units. Thank you so much Michael Pfeifer, Bernd Hermann and Gallus Burtscher — and all those students who participated.  The pictures have been made by a photographer from AFA. Enjoy:

Speech at the Lycée Français de Vienne 22. Mai 2014

Filed under: News — Judith Grohmann @ 20:32

May 22 was a very cool day. In fact, I did a speech in front of 100 students (3 classes!) from the French Lycée in Vienna – which is my old school –  about my book. We talked about important issues like: security and security standards, the work of the Counterterrorist units and the differences between the units and the countries in the haunting of Criminals. Also the different steps of criminality were analyzed, the work of the NSA, the work of spys – and why institutions monitore and control people… Here is a funny picture with some of the students:
