The Jubilee Event at the Occasion of the 40th Anniversary of the European Centre for Social Welfare Policy and Research took place in Vienna from Sunday, 14th of September to Wednsday 17th of September. I was invited as a guest of the Executive Director of the European Center for Social Welfare and Research, Professor Dr. Bernd Marin, to attend this extraordinary Symposium. I got an interesting view to the Future of Welfare and also the chance, to meet many researchers who work all over the World. The Conference took place at the Austrian Academy of Science and at the Vienna International Center of the United Nations in Vienna.

A German-Austrian Talk about Terrorism in Vienna 25. Juni 2014

Filed under: News — Judith Grohmann @ 13:25

Thursday evening I was one of 30 exclusive VIP-guests of the Vienna Insurance Group‘ s „Talk in the Tower“ celebrated by the Chairman of the Management Board of the Group, Günter Geyer.  This evening the chief editor of the Austrian Newspaper „Der Standard„, Alexandra Föderl-Schmid interviewed the German expert for Counter-Terrorism, Rolf Tophoven about the news in that field. It was a great evening, because I saw my longtime redactor in chief, Dr. Gerfried Sperl. I  had the chance to talk about „security“ with him and other cool guests from the University, the Police and from Military. These pictures have been taken by Tom Preiss for the Vienna Insurance Company – they speak for themselves:

Tonight I was at a Panel Discussion with the head of the Austrian Special Unit COBRA, Walter Weninger, the head of the applications playing of the Austrian Military, Brigadier Martin Jawurek, the Historian and Secret Service Expert Siegfried Beer, the Vice President Business Development of Frequentis, Anton Martha, the President of the Austrian Business Association, Margarete Kriz-Zwittkovits. We had many guests from various fields: entrepreneurs, consultants, military, police and students as well as the head of the Austrian PEN-Club. Our topic was: „Why do we need Security?“ and our presenter was Jochen Ressel, a guy with a great charm. I had the chance to wear the most beautiful dress sponsored by Monsoon, my favorite British Label. Look at these pictures made by Evelyn Scheidl, Peter G. Pongratz, Ebrù Sonuç and myself:
