Il y a des endroits fascinants et magiques dans Paris. Un de ces endroits magiques est surement le Sénat, situé au Palais du Luxembourg dans le 6ème arrondissement. Ce Palais fut construit en 1615 et 1631 par Marie de Medicis. Aujourd‘ hui le Sénat est une institution de la Vème République. Les 348 Sénateurs et Sénatrices votent la loi, contrôlent l’action du gouvernement et évaluent les politiques publiques.

J‘ ai été énormément touchée et surtout honorée par l‘ invitation de la Sénatrice Joëlle Garriaud-Maylam, qui m‘ a fait visiter le Sénat et m‘ a donné un regard derrière les coulisses très impressionnant. A un moment, nous avons visité la Bibliothèque du Sénat avec un fonds qui comprend 370 000 volumes, dont 12 800 anciens (antérieurs à 1830) et 9 300 considérés comme précieux, ainsi que 6 500 manuscrits et 45 000 estampes. La Bibliothèque du Sénat est l’héritière des bibliothèques des assemblées qui se sont succédé au Palais du Luxembourg depuis la création du premier Sénat à la fin de la Révolution française en 1799. La Bibliothèque du Sénat contient aussi mon livre, Forces spéciales contre la terreur, paru récemment aux Éditions de Passy. Plusieurs Sénateurs ont reçu mon livre. Je me suis permise de dédicacer un exemplaire à la Sénatrice Joëlle Garriaud-Maylam. 

Nous avons terminé notre rendez-vous à la Cafeteria du Sénat en buvant un café avec le Sénateur Robert Denis del Picchia et le Président Sénateur Honoraire Ambroise Dupont. Quelle journée fantastique!!! (les photos ci-contre ont pour Copyright Sénat et Judith Grohmann).

MEP Heinz K. Becker and the Austrian Cultural Forum Brussels invited many honorable guests from several embassies, delegates and deputies of the EU-Parliament, the network of the embassies and Cultural Forums as well as several journalists, to the presentation of the french version of my book: “FORCES SPÉCIALES CONTRE LA TERREUR – Terrorisme et Grand Banditisme: Les unités d’ interventions m’ont raconté”, that has been published at Les Éditions de Passy (France) on May 31st, 13:30 at the Library of the European Parliament, in the Altiero Spinelli Building in Brussels. It was a great Honor for me to be on the Podium with the Head of the Belgian Special Unit DSU, Roland Pacolet and the Deputy Military Representative to the Mission of Austria to NATO, Rainer Winter, as well as the Director of the Cultural Forum of Austria in Brussels, Marina Chrystoph. Our panel discussion about topics like „Security“ and „Counter-Terrorism“ took more than one hour. After that, we were glad, that many questions of our guests have been answered. The European Network of the Special Units can be really proud of their colleagues in Belgium. Thank you so much for this fantastic day in Brussels, dear MEP Heinz Becker and Marina Chrystoph. I was accompanied by the translator of my book, Mme Anne Marie le Claire and journalist Jean-Michel Stoullig. You will not believe, what happened in Paris this week. I know, you always think, that animals cannot be like humans. Well, at this point, I must say that you are totally wrong. Of course there are animals, who are capable to do things, you would never imagine. For example, Booba from Paris. The stunning element is, that Booba CAN read. What makes me so happy is, that this cat really enjoys reading my books. This week, he took a book in his language from the bookshelf, in this case it was „Forces spéciales contre la terreur“ and then… Booba began to read. You don’t believe me? Then, please take a look at the pictures. It is absolutely true:
