On Tuesday, September 10th, 2024, I presented my book »The real Mozart – The Original King of Pop«, written for Pen&Sword Ltd., in London. The event was a private, invitation-only gathering hosted by The Anglo-Austrian Society & The Mozartists and The Austrian Cultural Forum London. The event took place at 28 Rutland Gate, a beautiful, Austrian-owned building known for its rich history in cultural and intellectual cooperation. It has been the stage for some of the most celebrated names in classical music, and I was thrilled to add to that tradition.
I had the great honor to be on the podium together with Mr. Ian Page, the wonderful conductor and head of The Mozartists and we talked about the making of my book. Keep in mind that I am Austrian and that this is my first book that I wrote in English language. In between we had a wonderful Piano Concert.
We had 50 guests that Evening, among which: Some of my British friends dropped in, including Adel Darwish, a British-Egyptian political journalist and historian based at the Press Gallery of the House of Commons, specializing in Middle Eastern politics; Graham, who has worked internationally in the publishing industry; Andrew, a historian and author living in South Yorkshire; and Anthony, a Family lawyer, along with his sister Judy, a musician. One particularly special guest was Doris Brendel, daughter of the world-renowned Beethoven and Mozart pianist Alfred Brendel. Doris is a singer, songwriter and musician.
On a more personal note, the presentation coincided with my birthday, so it was a particularly memorable evening for me.
Pictures made by Miki, Elizabeth and myself. Special Thanks to Mrs. Dame Janet Ritterman, Mr. Ian Page, our Pianist and the Team of the Austrian Cultural Forum London.
